About Me

In July 2022, I celebrated ten years in travel!

I first became really interested in travel when I studied abroad in Mérida, Mexico as a college student at Ohio University. I loved the country and my experience there so much so that I ended up returning the following year and added Spanish as my second major.

These study abroad experiences were my first outside of the country, and I absolutely fell in love with the idea of seeing the world.

My husband also studied abroad in college (Rome, Italy) and dreamed of international adventures, so we make a good match!

Before working in the travel industry, I taught high school Spanish for five years and then pre-k and kindergarten Spanish. I started working as a travel agent at Destination Travel Company in 2012, and in 2020 accepted a position with KHM Travel Group as a writer with the Marketing Team. I also still wear my teacher hat, working with the Education Team to record webinars and lead presentations at our in-person events to help other travel advisors succeed in the industry. I am also on our company’s coaching team and mentor travel advisors one-on-one.

My husband and I are not overly picky about our travel destinations, but we particularly love the sunshine and turquoise waters of the Caribbean. We love trips to Walt Disney World (we have done adult-only vacations and trips with our kiddo) and helping clients plan their Disney vacations is really fun for me! The most incredible trip we have taken was a month spent in Portugal with our daughter.

When I am not traveling or helping others travel, I love to read, watch movies, spend time outdoors, roller skate, cook awesome vegan food, play board games, and do crafty things like sew or scrapbook.

Our little travel bug is in elementary school, and we also have an adorable mini poodle we rescued in 2024 from an Amish mill where she was used for breeding. She’s made amazing strides and is loving life as a beloved pet.
