5 Reasons Why We Love Disney’s Beach Club

Back when we began planning our Spring 2024 Walt Disney World vacation, we went back and forth on which resort to choose. We usually opt for a Moderate resort (Caribbean Beach Resort, Port Orleans Riverside, or French Quarter) but for this trip we focused on Cresent Lake area resorts, particularly, Disney’s Beach Club.

We’re so glad we chose Disney’s Beach Club for this vacation, and here are five reasons why we loved our stay there:

1 – Proximity to Epcot and Hollywood Studios

The primary reason we decided to book accommodations at Disney’s Beach Club was the ability to walk to both Epcot (via the International Gateway near World Showcase) and Hollywood Studios. While we ultimately skipped the walk to HS and opted for Skyliner rides, the five-minute commute from our hotel room door to the Epcot gate was priceless. It particularly came in handy when my husband scored an elusive Remy’s Lightning Lane for 4:30 en route to the resort at 2:30pm. We were able to duck into the park just to ride that!

2 – Proximity to Boardwalk Inn

A perk that revealed itself during our stay was how much we enjoyed walking to Disney’s Boardwalk Inn for meals. As a plant-based family, we absolutely loved the sandwich offerings at Boardwalk Deli. The breakfast ciabatta sandwich was incredibly delicious (ordered with allergy chocolate chip muffins and iced coffee!) and the pickled vegetable sandwich served during lunch was a light and flavorful option too. The Boardwalk Ice Cream Parlor had delicious vegan-friendly sundae options we enjoyed while sitting on a bench overlooking Cresent Lake.

3 – Stormalong Bay

Perhaps the most beloved pool on Walt Disney World Resort property, Stormalong Bay is a winding, sprawling recreation area suitable for all ages. With zero-entry swimming sections, lots of sand for digging and building, a vortex pool, a lazy river, a water slide, and waterfalls, it’s easy to carve out a favorite family spot. (For us, it was the sandy-bottom spot by one of the bridges – no one seemed to use this small pool area!)

4 – A Balcony Room

Knowing we would be spending more time at our resort during this particular vacation, having a balcony really appealed to us. Due to the near-record temperatures during our week in Orlando, we weren’t comfortable sitting out there as often we would have liked, but we appreciated eating there with our carry-out meals. Note that only some rooms at Disney’s Beach Club have balconies (and some are not full-size) whereas sister property Disney’s Yacht Club features balconies for each room.

5 – Skyliner Access

The Skyliner was just a hop, skip, and a jump away near the Epcot International Gateway. From our room to the Skyliner station was a quick five-minute walk and we loved this form of transportation. (It was our first trip to WDW since its construction.) Our daughter especially loved the Skyliner, and now that we have stayed so close to it, it’s hard to imagine NOT staying at a resort with access.
